What is 1/100 of a Euro called?

US money is so bland and boring. Our attempts at being "colorful" have fallen flat on it's face. not that I still wouldn't mind having lots of it in my wallet.

Nah. I wondered that at first too, but m-w.com...

Etymology: Middle French, hundred, from Latin centum -- more at HUNDRED

Note that the new currency is called the "euro", with a lower case "e".
It's probably acceptable to call it the "euro currency", for clarity.
The name "euro dollar" is completely incorrect. The euro's sub-units are
called "cents".

I just received EUR 14.20 from a Portuguese buyer, that's how I learned what their sub-unit is.

Plus I work in international banking and deal with FX currencies as part of my job.
