What inspires you to get back up when you get kicked down?

Metaphorically speaking?

When either circumstances, hubris or miscalulations in judgement cause you to feel knocked down, what inspires you to get back up and throw your back into it?

Pure arrogance. If you manage that trait well enough it can actually be a strong motivator. The trick though, is to keep it manageable in other situations.
