What in the world should I do with this bulletproof vest?

I used to work armed security but since have sold my 9mm and moved onto a safer job using computers - but definitely not as cool.

I still have my bulletproof vest hanging in my closet that I bought from a cop for $100. (He got a new one).

I don't know if there is a market to sell stuff like this or if maybe somebody from AT wants to volunteer to allow other members to "test" it out??

If I remember correctly it's a Class IIA and has a thick, removeable steel plate in the chest that provides increased protection against .44 or .45, and 5.56 rifle rounds. I'll have to find it and get exact specs - trying to find it now, girlfriend likes to randomly hide my stuff so I can never find it in logical places.

I'll probably let it go to somebody for $75 shipped.

Maybe I should go to Iraq with it and try to see how it works.

IIRC, it's illegal to wear one unless you are in some sort of law inforcement.

Nope. You just have to have your local sheriff's office fill out a form giving you permission to have/own one.

Is this a federal law or state?

I don't think I ever heard that here, and it doesn't seem like a real logical law. Sure it helps police kill criminals easier, but is an infringement on any ordinary citizen's right to defend him/herself (especially since it's a nonviolent defense method).

I believe it's a Second Chance brand, model name is "Male Carrier." It's navy blue in color.

Again, since my girlfriend loses all of my stuff, I still need to track it down to be positive, but I'm pretty sure.

Probably the SPA (six point) in navy. That's one of our more popular selling models. But that's just the carrier. What kind of armor is it? You said its IIA? I think the SC229 is the more popular armor that we sell.
