What images are safe to delete? True Image

I have around 60 images of a pc that makes a incrementally image everyday. Of course the first image had to start off as a full image and from there on they were incrementally images. Which images are ok to delete some of so if I ever go to restore images for that pc the ones I left will still work please?

Daily backups only record changes to the HDD. So The image to be restored would need your original snapshot, plus every daily change snapshot to get back to your most recent backup. all the restores would be processed in order.
therefore you must keep them all.

I think that is because changes are stored on a day to day basis.

So on day 15 if you wanted restore to day 7, but had deleted 5 & 10. It would not restore properly (or not work at all).

What if you deleted just 5 or 10 it would still not work when trying to restore to day 7 ?

Delete the odd-numbered files. Rename the first full image to remove the file extension. Then, uninstall Acronis, and spin around thrice, chanting "wrong forum" over and over, and it should work.

I already tried the right forum a few months ago.

change backup scheme from incremental to full backup daily and then setup a daily script to delete anything older than 2 days old.

Its good to have a image you can go back to that is longer than 2 days sometimes.

Exactly. JESUS does no sense come through people anymore. It records your new fu cking changes, and relies on the backup before to provide the data changed before, and so on and so forth. You shouldn't delete any.

Then buy a bigger drive and keep 7-10 images. Offload them to tape, CD, DVD whatever. Just change your scheme to prevent this problem in the future.

I already tried the right forum a few months ago.

That's comparable to walking into a bar and asking the barman for advice on how to bleed your car's brake system because none of your mechanic friends could tell you.

I will agree, however, that Acronis need to explain this better. I was not amused when I found this out after setting up True Image on five servers the other day.
