What if the US turned evil and nuked the whole middle east (except Isreal)

yes, it would create a vast barren wasteland for centuries.
(does anyone live long in Chernobyl?)

but it would be far cheaper for the US (in $ and US lives).
plus I'm guessing there would be easy/cheap ways to mine the oil. (now that's its free.)

Religion, leads from top down. Just like Government.

While a whole bunch of people can be called Religious, or Public Servants, they don't know better. They are simply trying to live their lives, with as little Government or Religious interference as possible.

Even the United States Army represents less than 5% of Americans.

The other 95% are just people going about their daily lives.

May as well nuke Israel as well, it would be the humane thing to do. Not because of Anti-Semitism, but because Israel would be a radioactive wasteland. Much of Europe and Africa would also be uninhabitable and I suspect Lifespans would decline globally.
