I made the statement that "he never voted for earmarks", the you say "yes he did". Its pretty obvious you were giving people the wrong impression.

wreckem: I will be more than willing to discuss this via PM if you like. Again sorry OP.

His agenda

1. Cut Federal Spending and other Govt waste.Yeah right. How much of his voting record backs up this claim?
2. Work with the Democrats to get stuff done on important issues.Whats that? UHC?
3. See Iraq throughYeah, a hundred years if need be

He is one of the only Senators to have zero earmarks for FY08.

Earmarks are the judge of a persons fiscal responsibility?

He will have to do better than that.

Well, its more credible than saying you are fiscally conservative, and then having 65 earmarks worth $400million+. I mean many peoples idol here Ron Paul, the advocate of the constitution. Where the federal govt shouldnt be spending money on programs, spent $8million on the marketing of shrimp, and another $2million on shrimp research. I'd love to hear how he explains that given his stances during his presidential campaign.

Ron Paul never voted for any earmarks either.

Typical Ron whats his name zealot....has no clue as to what Ronnies voting record in the Senate was...

Please leave this alone so the OP can have the topic it was meant to be. You show your ignorance of who Ron Paul is anyways, he wasn't a Senator.

Uh, do your research. Yes he did. He inserted 65 for the FY 2007, for over $400million. Including what I mentioned above.

Uh do YOUR research, he submitted the earmarks but never VOTED for them 😉
That's like telling a group of guys not to gang rape but if they do it anyway you figure what the hell.

Yes he did.

My original statement never said anything about voting.

Miscellany removed for clarity. Wreckem you lose.

Now to the OP:
McCain will not push for a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage. The only candidate I thought would actually do that was Huckabyebaby, as he talked about it incessantly.

Mac will remain hawkish on foreign policy, no doubt. Mostly saber wrattling I would guess, and I seriously doubt he'd preemptively start anything with Iran while we're still bogged down in Iraq. I would almost guarantee that, unless there's another attack on US soil, if he started any engagements in new military theaters he'd never get re-elected. We'll see how many times the Reps can fool the country in a row.

If Mr McCain's gets the nomination...

What do you think will be on his agenda?

"Stay the course" , he'll keep all of GWB's policies
he'll try to pass amnesty for illegal aliens

it'll be 4-8 more years (unless he croaks of old age, how old is he? 89?) of the same as GWB

If the Republicans win the Presidency in 08.

Romney would be as bad or worse than GWB and be an unmitigated disaster. He would quickly fall captive to the very GWB agenda because those GWB leftovers would become his advisers. We do not want a leader whose roots come from silver spoons.

McCain would be a mere disaster and have the resources to recruit more rational advisers. But still, he will find his policies do not suit the times.

And no matter who wins, American options will be greatly reduced with the main priority being reverse the damages done by GWB. We will spend many months or years fully appreciating how much damage GWB has done to America.

Job One will be clearing the bodies of millions of arrogant, butt-head, Hillary-voting, Democratic suicides who will suddenly realize they again handed Bush the election.

🙁

bwahahahaha...picture worth a thousand word. 4 more year, 4 more year......

Yes, because hugging Bush is a legal contract indicating that the hugger will follow his policies to the letter.

BTW, does anyone else notice that the picture looks a little .. odd? almost as if it was faked. There's something not quite right about the angle of that hug; i can't put my finger on it.

Same agenda as always: serve the interests of the super wealthy and corporate classes who they represent, and try to hold on to power by giving 51% of voters enough to elect them. Expect more short-term greed and deception.

I predict he will push for:

Amnesty for illegals, but call it something else.

And some well intentioned, but disasterous gov program about MMGW.

If Mr McCain's gets the nomination, I can see him beating either Mr Obama or Ms Clinton in November.

I predict he will push for:

Sustaining or increasing the Bush tax cuts.

At least increased sword rattling or maybe military action against Iran. Pretty much following the Bush Doctrine.

A constitutional amendment against Homosexual something.

What do you think will be on his agenda?

Yeah... that sound like good fun ....

We should add more to your list like...

Abolishing abortion...

Giving tons of cash hand outs to the christain faith based camps.

Take away more rights....... Who needs em anyway?

Do away with social security ... Spend the money as fast as we can to squeeze out a few more years before recession really hits! Yeah!

These are all great idea's! 🙂

Thanks for posting!

I know who I'm voting for! *WINK*

McCain would push for much the same agenda Hillary would. With two notable exceptions: Iraq, and Health Care.

Otherwise, he'd put forward a very similar agenda to what a liberal might. Coincidence? I think not.

I've now seen every candidate in the race called liberal, conservative and centrist in various posts. Starting to get meaningless.

McCain would probably put Giuliani as head of DoHS. I don't think that'd be a liberal move.

I try not to think about it. McCain is the representative of the military-industrial complex interests in this election, so I would predict more endless war.

It must be nice to be able to have such a black-and-white worldview, with good and evil all standing out with comic book-like clarity. I imagine it gives you the same kind of comfort that the piously religious have. Perfect good on one side, perfect evil on the other. Ah, must be nice. Too bad it's not true, eh?
