Do I need to buy a new Phillips screwdriver for assembling a system if the one I have has gotten magnetized somehow and picks up small screws?

Generally a small amount that a screwdriver would carry doesn't do much damage. I wouldn't rub your hard drive with it very much though... :)

if it makes you feel any better, I use a screwdriver which has become magnetized when building & never had any issues with it!

Same here I used a magnetized screwdriver lastweek to build a PC and my PC is up and running :).

The magnet in your PC speaker is most likely much stronger than your screwdriver, I wouldn't worry about it unless screws start sliding across your desk chasing your screwdriver.

I've used plenty of magnetized screwdrivers in a computer... no problems. Worry more about having built up a static charge on yor person than having a magnetic screwdriver
