Nothing? It would be a minor inconvience for the 5 minutes I was offline...then I'd fire up the laptop, fire up the cell, plug it in to the generator and get on with whatever I was doing. No biggie ;)

No PC, No Food, No TV, nothing unless it's battery power

I wouldn't be worried about getting on the computer. Our society has become so dependent on the electrical infrastructure.

stick it in your pants for a couple hours and it will thaw out, maybe a bit rare, but you can at least chew it

When the power goes out like that, I'd just report to Hazzard Team out at the lab/office and watch the chemicals, play games with the computer I had an nForce with a geforce2 dropped into during the summer and laugh at everyone that isn't getting paid to have fun.

Edit: this is a really really [alternative lifestyle slur deleted] thread though...

Then things would be sheilded, technology would adapt to deal with it, it always does.

Besides, an electromagnetic pulse device would take an incredible amount of power to keep pulsing, once is bad enough...

Have you seen oceans eleven? :p

Jessia Alba would look cute and save us from the beast-people.
Mel Gibson would look tough and help us get gasoline and fight off the ricers.
Guy Pearce would look mournful and be ineffectual, but would finally save us from the head brain-person.
