What if Mr. Rogers became President?

I really think he would be above condemnation and attack. Just seeing the outpouring of love from absolutely everyone makes me think that he would have united us more than anyone else ever.

America would fall to it's knees overnight.

Takes balls (not meant in a sexist way, more figurative 😉) to be the president, and Mr. Rogers was too nice of a guy to push anyone around.

He'd be less successful as a President than Jimmy Carter. An Honest Caring Man would be chewed up and spit out in the Dog eat Dog world of POLITIK.

What if Tom Daschle had become president?

:Q

I would have picked Mr. Rogers over him any day.
Maybe Fred Rogers would have been able to do the job as well as Dubya if he had the same Cabinet. Of course he would never have nominated Herr Ashcroft.

I heard Mr. Rogers was in one of the big wars and was a special ops marine with like 1000+ kills. Can anyone confirm this?

snopes.com will tell you it's an urban legend.

Please don't insult the memory of Mr. Rogers by suggesting he should have stooped to being President. He had a far nobler, higher, and longer lasting influence on America and the world by exactly what he did and how he lived his life than any politician ever could have. Ditto for people like Jim Henson, Dr. Seuss, Charles Schultz, etc.

Mr. Rogers as President? Only if Seaborn Jones were VP! He has no ability to put emotion into his voice, but his life is just qierd enough to not need it. Now I need to go back and find out what he did for the show.
(speaking of which, I need to get a book or more of his)
