What if I flipped the power connector for my Golden Orb?

If I flipped it around on the header on my motherboard, would the fan on my Golden Orb spin the opposite way? Would this have any affect on cooling my cpu?

Almost every fan (dunno about the Gorbs) have reverse voltage protection so if you reverse the positive and negative leads the fan will not spin at all.

I?m sure the guys and gals who make the Golden Orb have spent many a hour testing fan direction and it?s probably just best to leave it alone. Besides if your running a high speed CPU and the fan fails to spin you CPU is gonna be dead really soon so if it fails to start but reversing the leads you don?t have long to turn it off

You'd think so wouldn't you. Be interesting to find out what the result is. Maybe DO95 can let us know.

While it wouldn't surprise me if Thermaltake didn't spend many an hour testing fan direction, that's pretty inconsequential. Due to the way the fan's mounted(at least on mine) you can't physically turn the fan around. The only way to reverse the direction of airflow is reversing the polarity of the power to the fan, and I GUARANTEE whoever made the fan did spend many an hour optimizing it for flow in the direction it's going.
