what if? Germany wins ww1 in 1916

think of how different the world would be now.

no communist russia. and probably no communist china.
and all the deaths and unrest that they brought. (Cold War)

would there have been a war after ww1?
probably yes but against Japan. but would it have been a world war?

no nazi government or even a nazi party.
would there be an Israel now? probably no as most Jews fled
there b4 and after WW2.

Hmm Germany would have charged France and England a huge fine for the war, like they did to Germany in actual history.. probably would have been England and France that in turn went fascist and tried to take over Europe. But who knows? I guess speculation is fun...

Just saying "Germany wins WW1" is a little vague. WW1 was so insanely politically complicated lots of different things could have happened.

Pffft... what if. What if I'm taking a shower and I slip on a bar of soap?

Oh my god, I'd be killed!😱

Well, if the Nazis hadn't scared all the major physicists into either leaving or avoiding nuclear fission, Germany would have been the first to get the bomb.

Is this for a history assignment?

nope. just something i been thinking about. what ifs are interesting to think about.
alot of times just a small seemly insignificant thing can mean huge changes.

was watching a show on history channel. Finding the Fallen.
A team of archaeologists, historians and forensic experts dig up sections of the old
ww1 Western Front. In one episode they found the body of a German Soldier and they
identified him and his regiment (16th Bavarian) What if instead of this man it was Hitler instead?
(Hitler was in same regiment)

other what ifs i think about is.. what if.. Army group centre had of continued on to Moscow in July of 1941 instead of stopping for almost 2 months.

What if the Italian army was as competent as the German army? (No German side shows to North Africa and the Balkans)
If the Italians didnt get there asses kicked by the Greeks ..Hitler would not have had to send troops to the Balkans to secure the southern flank and Rumanian oil on the eve of his Russian invasion which was delayed by 2 months.

what if that German officer did not disobey orders and carried plans for "fall gelb" (case yellow = plans for invasion of France and low countries) it was because of that, the plan was altered and the panzer armys attacked thru the Ardennes. which we know ended in the Fall of France and Dunkirk.

Uh... the Communism/Socialism movement started in Russia well before WWI.

And the Nazi's were responsible for seriously putting the hurt on the Soviet Union. Even though the USSR stood their ground, they took some severe blows due to Hitler.
The face of East Europe would be quite a bit different had WWII never happened, and it really only happened because Germany was full of little oblivious bitches after WWI.

Why wouldnt there be a Soviet Union?

I think it is too hard to say there wouldnt be a Nazi Germany even if they won WWI. True the Nazi's used the forced reparations but also the failures of the great depression to gain power. The GD would had happened anyways and that would have opened the door for the Nazi movement.

You might consider looking up some of the terms of the Treaty of Versailles and reconsider that "oblivious bitches" comment. For extra credit, compare and contrast with the Marshall Plan that followed WWII.

The Soviet Union did not form until 1922. The big change was the revolution in 1917 (aided by Germany) which took Russia out of WW1. If Germany had of won in 1916. They would have not had to stoke up the Bolsheviks. thus Russia and the Czar would still be intact.

There was civil war in Russia from 1917-1921 .. The Reds won instead of the Whites. too bad. as no communist Russia = no communist China. (Communist Russia supported and aided the Communists in China)

see post #22. German intervention in Russia caused the Czar to be overthrown and Russia making peace with Germany.

it wasnt just the GD that helped the nazis but the scapegoating of the Jews blamed for losing the war. The Germans were told that the allies were at war with the Kaiser and not the German people. When the Kaiser was gone the Germans felt betrayed by the oppressive Treaty of Versailles. Germany did not start or was the cause of WW1 yet they were blamed for the whole thing.

This is how I see it.

The Russians weren't that interested in fighting the Germans, they wanted what was in the Balkans. Germany wasn't really interested in fighting anyone they just had to and took the practical route, to them it was all about who was who's ally. After defeating France they would have convinced the British is wasn't worth it. The war against Russia was a forgone conclusion. Not really any hope for the Russians in a one front war against the Central powers. The Brits were no fans of Russian influence near their colonies in India and Afghanistan. I'm sure the Germans could have convinced the British that if they dropped out of the war the Germans would re establish France. And thereby re established the balance of European power, with a less aggressive Russia. The Czar was weak, but the Germans would have made sure he was in charge had they won the war.

The Germans were old school, all about alliances and tinkering with the balance of power. Their victory would have prevented radicals (Nazis) from taking control. The bigger changes would have come from a more powerful and super influential Japan and re vitalized Ottoman Empire I think.

Again, this is all hypothetical. Just what I think would have happened.

Actual understanding of history has no place in this thread!
