I would venture that Europe would build the best of all worlds, speed, practicality, longevity but hella expensive...hehe I would guess that the E60 M5 is the closest to the above.

aynway, because we're the only people who've sent anyone to the moon, and we made the SR-71, i'm sure we could rely on some other 1960s tech to blow away everyone else again.

I also say europe. However I am not as sure as I once would have been, as of late BMW's keep getting uglier and filled with excessive useless features *cough* idrive *cough*. Mercedes has been having problems with reliability and also has too much complication in the cars, imo.

luggage space? 4 cubes?

when you have that kind of money you don't need luggage. you purchase new clothes at your destination and ship anything you can't find there.

Italian exterior, German interior, American engine + trany (+ Starsky and Hutch GO FASTER stripes lol j/k), and Asian pricing. Now that would be a very interesting car.

Pictures: Lambo styling, Mercedes top level interior trim, American brute force engine.

When you have that kind of money Courteney Cox meets you when you exit the car to dress you in your new get-up.

Well, we hold the land speed record, AFAIK, so I'd say the US could win speed on a straight run.

that is the same thing that GM is hoping for these days... i don't think it's working

anyway:
Lamborghini's engine
+Ferrari's exhaust note
+Alfa Romeo's styling
+Aston Martin's interior
+Lotus' handling
+VW's affordability
+Mercedes Benz's hardtop convertible

Yeah but whose engines did you use?

Engine used = 90% of cars straight line performance IMO.

Define "Ultimate Car". And I'd say it's a toss-up, they'd all make something pretty amazing in some kind of competiton, but it would be too expensive.
So for now the ultimate car is defined by market share, and it depends on what market sector you look at. IE: the US has trucks, Japan has cars, Europe has exotic sports cars.

Audi interior design, aston martin or ferrari exterior, bmw engine, volvo safety.

Basically a car that would appeal to every market sector.

That's the most retarded definition ever.

Japanese for engine/technology, European for interior/exterior styling.
