Well I was very excited about winning something, but the place I won it from did not give me an explaination and just refunded my money.

Last time I checked, an ebay auction is a binding contract. If I didn't pay, I could get in trouble, by getting a non paying bidder warning or whatever. Can they get a warning for not supplying the product? Anything besides just giving bad feedback?

If not, that's just a ridiculous double standard IMO... complete bullcrap.

You don't get what you want for something in an auction, great, JUST DON'T SUPPLY IT... crap IMO.

HA, my ex-girlfriend once sold her UGG boots on ebay, and regretted doing so, so she had me call the person myself to tell her that she couldn't part with her boots.
She still wears them to this day, 2 years later.

Thankfully she didnt leave negative feedback.

Other than leaving negative feedback, eBay won't do anything. I just got off the phone with them regarding getting ripped off by a seller and since eBay shut down their account for fraud they won't give out their info to be. Sounds like the criminals get protected, I'm thinking mafia connections.

If that is the case, I will have my eye open for it again... this is total BS.

You are totally right about criminals being protected. At least they refunded my money... a week or so later.

I think there is also a non-selling seller complaint form. Search for it on their help page.
edit: Yes, you can report the seller. I'm not sure what eBay can really do though. See here for more info.

Yeah the seller was 0 feeback and I know better than that, but I got into the auction just as it was ending and I really wanted to get it. Luckily it was only $17.00 for an Omega Man soundtrack CD. The seller must have some balls though, I've threatened to have the cops go to their house but they hold up saying the've sent it out. Only having their most likely fake address and email address sucks, considering eBay is protecting the real stuff. When I called in tolding them how upset I was and was considering never doing business with them again they were more than happy to tell me how to shut down me account, what nerve. You would think they would want + customer relations. I guess though when you're that huge one person doesn't mean squat, just as long as the criminal is safe.

They do; you just have an incorrect set of definitions.

To eBay, the seller is the customer, the buyer is just a commodity. Sellers are where eBay gets their money from - you don't pay the final value fee as a buyer, nor do you pay the paypal fees when you pay for an item. Both are taken off the seller's payment.
