What, if any, religion is Robert Jordan?

I live in the same town as he, and I would love to know what he believes. He obviously is familliar with many religions, especially Christianity, but I have no idea what he thinks.
 
surprisingly enough he is a real life actual druid.

he performs the old rights regularly. pretty nuts if you ask me but i guess to each his own.

I just wish he would get back to Wheel of Time proper series. Book 12 is on indefinte hold while he writes around it with things like his revision of "New Spring" and the other side project he's working on, something to do with the previous age (which if too detailed would be such a huge spoiler, and also sorta kills the question if the pervious age was our age with all the technology references to it)

i heard him talk about it on an interview he gave on NPR a while back. He is actually a very articulate speaker, but i guess i shouldn't be surprised, he is a famous author, lol.

i heard him talk about it on an interview he gave on NPR a while back. He is actually a very articulate speaker, but i guess i shouldn't be surprised, he is a famous author, lol.

My father hates fantasy writing, but after seeing him speak, he bought the first WOT book.
My dad was instantly addicted and read the entire series.
Religion is obviously a huge theme in his novels.
I am not sure where in the Charleston area druids practice their stuff.

well i wouldn't expect that they go advertising it, there are a lot of intolerant people around so i would assume that they keep mostly to themselves.
 
I've had some Druid friends... but at the moment, my pagan community of choice is kinda pissed off at me.

pretty average people. they have their freaks (I knew one guy who walked around with a walking staff everywhere he went -- including around campus and to class; I also know for a fact that he held the stick when he went to sleep at night). but a lot of them were fairly normal. one girl was a an army reserve / stripper. that was pretty unique 🙂
 
I don't know how anyone can claim to be druid, it's about the same as claiming Wicca is an old religion. The last druid died in 1200 something, it was an oral tradition with a strict prohibition on writing anything down and when the last living druid died the religion died with it. Forced conversion to christianity ended the celtic faith and anyone that claims to be a druid is smoking a little too much of something.

Yeah, my uncle was a Druid -- my family always wanted to ask him about it but we didn't bring it up so as not to offend him in front of my aunt. Once they got divorced she wouldn't even talk about it, except to say that the whole thing was weird.

What a ripoff, we had a freak in the family and didn't even get to talk about it!
