I have a new Plextor burner coming in the next couple of days and want a good fast reliable Cdrom to pair with it... I sometimes do audio cd`s and need fast DAE but havent kept up with IDE drives (have all SCSI at the moment)... Can anyone point me in the right direction on this???

Thanks...

If you want the absolute fastest DAE then you should go with the kenwood 72x. I think it has an average of 46x dae. Plus it is dead silent. Check out cdspeed 2000
It should point you in the right direction

Kenwood discontinued the 72x quite a while back.
Asus, Teac, Panasonic or any of the 40x will work just fine. No need to go overboard. That's why the Kenwood is gone. Why pay big money for unnecessary crap.

I had that same CDRW drive for awhile and used it with an Affrey 56x and had no probs burning at 12x with the burnproof.
