the orginal TMNT comic was black and white. it was also pretty violent (well compared to the colored ones by Archie comics).

Were they black and white? I remember that early on, all the turtles had red bandanas, but not sure if I recall seeing the black and white comics.

Then again, I didn't get much into it until the cartoon came out, after which I was a fanatic for a few years.
