I was going to respond by saying that the ones whose minds are limited are the religious minds whose constant focus is not on increased knowledge for the sake of knowledge but are instead stuck in the "God did it mode". Explaining the universe doesn't diminish it's awesomeness or beauty. Science isn't constrained by religious dogma but only by those who wish to challenge science as defying their God.

I believe in the big bang theory, right down to most science. I don't excuse evolution either. we just evolved to a point where i think it MAY have been possible there were super humans portraying themselves as gods. Have to admit, as we get older as a species we sure are getting more stupid. Think about all the brilliant minds of old, makes ya think just maybe? I think dormant parts of the brain were unlocked during ancient times and just MAYBE they were able to do things like you see in those movie cliches. Its a theory of course.

About "spirituality" i did see something when i was 13, and well in my beliefs 13 is the number of change and well at the same time there was 7 others who saw the same. I was forced catholic at this time as well and right after that it all changed. What i saw may confirm a place where these "deities" of old resign. I pray to the energies they left behind. Like the ones i saw. Some can feel these and i feel multiple. I doubt they will let most of you see them but some claim to have seen Jesus so who knows..... . This may explain the need for religion as people pick up on these energies they attract to but i got a hard time believing in any sorta physical manifestation of a god coming back.

Can't excuse spirituality nor can you excuse science, i found a balance but luckily for me it happened cause of actual experiences.Somethings you just need to see something to change your views on everything. If i didn't see what i did when i was 13 ,i MAY be a bible thumping catholic today.

Well it goes back to tribalism, and people wanting to belong. That is my first point. Second, people don't want to think, especially critically think. They take things presented to them as factual. It happens everywhere. Critical thought is hard, and it often requires a paradigm shift which for many aren't able to do. And, of course fear and conditioning play a part. Who wants to burn in hell for eternity? Sounds scarty and awful. And, for many since their family is a Christain I'm a Christain. There are people who break free, but it's not many.
