What I don't like about CSS...

Servers with a dozen stupid ass wav files that have to download before entering.

Bots... this is the worst addition to CSS yet. The whole point of playing CSS is to play against other people.

Reload scrips AWP whores use to reload in 1/4 of the time it normally takes.

Teammates who stand right next to you or right behind you so that you can't move when you want to, like to get behind cover.

Teammates who use flashbangs without looking at the radar to see if they're going to blind any of their team mates.

Teammates who throw smoke in random places for no apparent reason that doesn't do any good.

Actually... just team mates in general who don't understand this game isn't like UT2k4... you don't run around the map as fast as you can trying to shoot things, it requires more tactics.

Before you start flaming... I'll cover the most obvious one...

If I don't like the game I shouldn't play it. :roll:

I never know when people refer to CS:S or CSS (The later I know nothing of and always get very confused when expecting CS:S)

BTW rightclick on serves in STEAM to show which servers have bots, so you can avoid those.

yea there are a few too many servers with bots..should list # of bots separtely in server browser so u dont join empty(of humans) games.

i didn't know there were awp scripts... bug exploit?

i hate it when people run at the start without switching to knife and causing traffic jam....

newest map is pretty..but a squint fest.

Steam needs a filter to filter servers with bots.

Yeah, there's awp scrips... I don't think it's a bug expoit. Just something that I guess Valve didn't see a need to prevent.

This is why I don't play CS:S... I don't want to annoy guys like you. I stick to HL2: DM so I can pretty much run into anywhere with guns / gravity gun blazin.

By the way, is there an Anandtech CS server or HL2: DM server?

The bot filter would be nice, but as long as you in STEAM can see which servers has bots playing you can avoid those.

If that's the type of game you like to play that's fine... I used to play UT2k3 and had lots of fun. But CS is a different style game... people don't seem to understand that.


BTW for all you anal people, I'm not in the habit of typing CS:S because on some forums ":S" results in an emoticon.

Although I agree those things are annoying, if you play with some halfway decent people then these things are not an issue. (haven't heard of the awp reload thing) If I play a game with people that don't know what they are doing then I go off on my own killing as many as possible. Although I do consider myself pretty damn good at this game (used to play the original version a bunch)

Simple. Find good servers that you like and stick with them.

I always save servers i find good in favorites, most of times you only need 5-7 servers to always beeing able to play.

I haven't found one server that's consistantly good. Some of them just disappear, I guess people rent one for a month and then don't want it anymore. Other ones come up with these dumbass custom sounds or have a bunch of stupid custom maps on the rotation.

your right about the sounds. I hate it when I connect to a server and it starts getting a billion sounds. I find a new server. Some of the custom maps are sweet though. Scoutzknivez is my personal favorite.

I hate when I find a good server and forget to save it. I think I have about 4 right now. But then again sometimes even those can suck if the usual people are not in there.

I love the new map tides so I always try and play there when I first start off. I haven't been playing for more than a month and have improved a lot over what I used to be.

What upsets me the most is people who don't play as a team and sit around like little girls while I go in with no backup and get my ass kicked. If I rush I can kill the first guy but as soon as I kill him his friend comes around the corner and guess what? I have no backup. When you get a team that works well together the game is really fun.

 

Sounds like your playing in the wrong servers, once you start playing the game a little longer and get better, these problems arent as bad. As for the reload bug, it will be fixed soon.

I looked around a bit on the steam forums and didn't see anything about that being fixed... where did you hear about it?

Hmm no one answered. Does Anandtech have a HL2 server of any type? Has there ever been an AT clan or anything like that? Any community for the Half-Lifers?
