I saw some things about it on tv a few nights ago. It's a zombie movie, from an italian director. Horribly gruesome. The part I saw showed a womans hair being pulled by a zombie, close to a wooden splinter, pointed at her eye. Very slowly, you see the splinter enter her eye. I thought the name of the movie was just "Zombie" but the movie zomibe is from 1964 and that seems too old to be this movie.

I don't know what the movie is, but you may be talking aboot Dario Argento. Look here and see if any of the movie descriptions tell you about this scene,

It's a Fulci film. Hold on...
Accessing memory of Italian horror films....

Ah, yes. In the US it is called, Zombie 2

People on an island as the dead come back to life. The scene you described is a woman in a house, her bedroom when the zombies break in to eat her. They bust through the bedroom door and drag her through the door where she impales a splinter from the door into her eye. Yuck.

Oh yeah, wayyy too much gore. But a funny thing happened over the weekend: AMC and I think IFC both had their Halloween specials all Saturday and Sunday and they showed a whole lot of stuff I didnt think they would show. One scene I remember was from John Carpenter's "The Thing" when the beast opens the guys belly and bites the arms off of the doctor. Showed the whole screaming scene. Very surprised and pleased by that!
