What do you mean by you miss zombie panic? It hasn't gone anywhere.. There really aren't many mods with big communities. The biggest is probably Zombie Panic Source, and no other mods really even have a user base that's comparable to that. Age of Chivalry had a few servers with a decent amount of players last time I played it. Insurgency, Hidden: Source, Goldeneye: Source, and NeoTokyo might have a few people playing. Other than those, there's not really much.

Empires Mod is still fairly active, there are only one big server but at least one is always populated.

I liked Rock24 and Metastasis.

There was one other one that was absolutely brilliant, looked gorgeous but I can't remember the name, it was only about a year ago I played it. Amazingly, you didn't get any guns in it and it was still brilliant, can anyone remember what it was called? Lots of clever puzzles and you built a sort of vehicle at the end, it was incredibly well thought out, but I can't remember the name? :hmm:

Eternal Silence is a pretty neat mod. It's a FPS/Space shooter hybrid. You start off on your team's spaceship, and from there you can pilot a number of ships to fly around in space, dogfight, or board the enemy cruiser to plant a bomb or such. It's downloadable straight from Steam as well.

The community isn't huge by any means, but you'll always find a populated server or two.

If you're in for a big change, there's a mod named Kreedz Climbing. There are no weapons, so the idea is to climb around the map to reach the goal. You can save a checkpoint at any location.

I absolutely suck at this mod and always end up using a ton of checkpoints, while some of the other players hop around like maniacs and make it to the end within minutes. Luckily, this won't affect you unless everyone else votes to the next map. Also, there are plenty of custom maps to keep you busy.

There were custom maps for TFC (and Counter-strike perhaps) based on this same idea, if anyone remembers.

I wish there was a Science and Industry source mod... I always enjoyed playing that years ago...

Another one, Jailbreak: Source is pretty fun. The maps look amazing. It's still being updated as well, so there are a few populated servers.

Research & Development? Look for it on moddb. My flipping filtering at work doesn't like gaming sites.

Whoa, did the cinematic mod add ironsights?
And you can now turn off the "cinematic" music?
Seems I might have to give it another try...
