Does your current heatsink not cool well, or is it not quiet enough for you? If you're not satisfied with it, then you might as well consider replacing it, otherwise I don't see why it shouldn't work ok.Originally posted by: nippyjun
I'm going to get an athlon 64 X2 4400 oem. Do i need a special heatsink or will my current thermaltake silent boost k8 work fine?

The X2 series is the same size, shape, etc. as any other socket 939 processor, so any existing heatsink for 939 should work - assuming that it can provide adequate cooling.Originally posted by: nippyjun
My current heatsink is the Silent boost k8 and i'm using it on a a64 3200 chip. I'm wondering if i can use it on the OEM X2 4400 that i'm going to order. Or do you need some "special" heatsink" since it's dual cores.

Does the fact that there are 2 cores in the chip mean more heat? Or does the 90mm process keep the heat down?
