$80? Didn't you hear? I paid $40 for mine bitch!! :p

I got the Shures for $135, though.

Just got these in today and they sound great so far. The amp is a lot smaller than I thought it would be. Having them in the canal will certainly take a lot of getting used to, but they aren't uncomfortable. Just weird.

I love the BitHead, though. It's great for work and I can use it for my portable as well.

Shure e2c's - around $100. Best portable headphones I've used so far although my soon to be father in law has upgraded to the e5c's. I've tried them out with my iPod and they do rock, but not for a couple of hundred dollars more.

Sennheiser HD600s -- $250 (I think)

I've been using them constantly for like 3 years now (I think 3 years?). Infact, so much so that I had to buy a replacement cable for them from a 3rd party company. The 3rd party company was like 2 guys in australia and they made an awesome cable for me that is nearly indestructable.

However, the foam piece that sits inside the headphone port on my amp recently broke in half :( Now my headphone connector wiggles while plugged into the Amp.

Sennheiser MX-500 ($15)
Sennheiser PX200 ($30)
Sennheiser HD-580 ($120 from Newegg almost 2 years ago when they apparently didn't realize how much they were worth)
Beyerdynamic DT-531 ($150)
Etymotic ER-4P ($200)

(My amp is a Corda HA-1 Mk1)

apac, you make my 280s cry:(

Don't feel too bad, the 280 pros are said to be the best sealed cans you can buy.

And for $40, that's an awesome deal. :)

$40 is indeed an awesome deal, but BOOO, A500s are the best sealed cans in the ~$100 range. A900s are the best period (~$200). RAWRR!

The Sony MDR-R10's are the best sealed cans period. (~$3000-$4000)

On my iPod I use these cheapo ($15) Koss in-the-ear phones.
At home I use $50 Sony studio monitor headphone (dunno the model).

Koss TD-80. VERY NICE, not too expensive.

A touch heavy, doesn't bother you 'till you use them for like 3 hours straight.

Your point? :p The two I listed are reasonable for the everyday "audiophile".

Sennheiser 555's
paid $150 @ headphone.com
apparently they can be had cheaper (to be honest I looked and didn't find anything at the time - I was in a hurry to buy after killing my old headphones), but customer support and return policy was good.

Caution: Lack of ear circulation due to Grado's legendary tightness can lead to AMPUTATION! ;)

i have etymotic er4s around $200 and beyerdynamic DT88s around $250. i used to have HD650s but they were an overkill of $$$ and for my meager setup.
