sennheiser HD 570's they cost about 50 bucks (though they retailed for 150, i found a good deal online)
I use Koss : The Plug earbud type things for my cd player when i'm on the go. these were like 5 bucks, but sounds pretty decent and do a good job filtering out outside noise.

Don't feel too bad, the 280 pros are said to be the best sealed cans you can buy.

They do sound pretty awesome, and they keep getting better with age. My ears get pretty sweaty after extended use though.

$40 is indeed an awesome deal, but BOOO, A500s are the best sealed cans in the ~$100 range. A900s are the best period (~$200). RAWRR!

Sennheiser MX 400 earbuds for about $14. one of the best $14 i've spent. anyone with a portable MP3 player needs to ditch the junk earbuds that come with it and get these (even iPod owners who adore their white earbuds).

i also have a set of Sony Eggos, i forget teh model numbers. i sold my open-air Sennheisers because i couldn't use them anywhere quiet, and then got the Eggos. they are very lightweight and comfortable. they sound nice too
