i am planning to get more than 500GB storage

is it worth to get the raptor 74gb and put the OS and games on it? and get another hdd to put data on it?

if i'll get the raptor, what to get next to it?
do i go for the hitachi 7k500? or it is better to get 2*t7k250 or 2*MaxlineIII??

PLEASE quit opening more threads asking the same questions. All you are going to do is frustrate people and they aren't going to answer you questions. Owning raptors I can tell you that they aren't really worth it in most cases, just get a larger SATA II hard drive, like the WD with 16mb of cache.

No don't get a raptor. A seagate with NCQ (assuming your mobo supports NCQ) can outperform a raptor.

MaxLine III's or the Hitachi seem to be the best non Raptor SATA drives out there.

One of the better places to get information on hard drive performance is www.storagereview.com/

And of course here at anandtech.com/
