What HD should I get for gaming system?

My build will be 4300 + 965 gigabite...

I saw some nice prices.. like 99 bucs for 400 gigs.. etc..etc... want a good HD thats fast but also quiet. Any suggestions?

If you're looking for a quiet hard drive, the SilentPCReview crowd prefers Western Digital and Samsung for modern SATA desktop drives. Seagate's older PATA models are definitely quiet though.

A quiet HD isn't going to give you that much if your using an aluminum case and/or have a somewhat loud system already but if you are going for silence the WD SE16 is definitely the way to go (I am very happy with mine).

HDD is the least important component of a gaming PC - you play with textures and game data in system memory.

Get a good sized brand name HDD for a decent price - they're all very similar.

Yeah thats why noise level was really my only goal... and I've read reviews on the WD SE16 and it seems to be a good drive on all fronts.
