What have you done to save yourself from an economic meltdown?

Well? Hypothetically, we could be heading for a big one. When? We just don't know. What have you done to prepare? Or what would you do? Will there be much that you can do to prevent or absorb anything on that scale?

I'm in college, and I hope I get a decent-paying job before the economy melts down, or before we go to war with China/Russia/Iran/Anyone who makes fun of us.
Besides that, with my student loans, my net worth is probably just about zero dollars.
