So I've revived my SNES from storage, bought a Everdrive flash cart, Sony PVM RGB monitor, RGB scart cable, etc. Now I've got my Sega CD also in RGB and just bought 2 6 button controllers, and probably picking up a Everdrive cart for it as well. Thought
that would be the end of it.

Now I find find myself scoping out mint condition complete games, along with other game consoles, namely NES, Turbo Duo, and Neo Geo AES, etc Original boxes even...

Slippery slope from here...

Overpaying for old games that have way better similar versions now?

Emulation, better? LOL no...

Majority of mint condition games are less than $10. Only a few are in the $100s, like Chrono Trigger. And most of those high price high demand games Ive had since launch.

Hell a PS2 with native PS1 hardware can't even play FF7 or Xenogears correctly.

Got a new laser for my original first release SCPH-1001 PS1, picking up an RGB hookup for that too :)

After experiencing SNES and Genesis in RGB on a native analog PVM CRT, I'm not allowing anything older than XBox 360 or PS3 on the 1080p projector anymore.

And so it begins... $200 for a copy of Pier Solar for Genesis/Mega Drive, out of production original print release US English version, complete, mint condition.

I've never heard of the game before today, but it's a home brew project. A real completed production cart with professional packaging and all. Probably first and only of it's kind in the home brew scene and apparently the rarest Genesis game. 64 Mbit RPG for Genesis/Mega Drive that is said by many to be on par with Chrono Trigger and one of the best 16 bit RPGs. Comes with a supplemental CD for use with Sega CD for optional enhanced sound and music. Also AFAIK unable to be copied or emulated due or run on flash cart due to custom 64 Mbit cart, only one of it's kind, and emu authors refuse to add support for it out of respect for the home brew dev scene. Pretty cool.

Given all the other games that, while expensive ($300+ for Earthbound, $100 for Chrono Trigger, etc), are readily available all over the place, I had to go with this first. Pier Solar, especially *original* release, is the only one which includes the supplement CD. They have "reprint" editions but you have to download an .iso and burn the CD, and even those are out of production.

Im going to have to get a DSLR and a tripod or something, my Droid X camera phone cannot do the Sony PVM monitor in RGB mode any justice at all. The best scaler and digital panel can't even compare.

Why in the world was this game developed for the Genesis in the first place? Wikipedia says it was released in 2010!

+1 for the turbo duo, I've always been a big Castlevania fan and Rondo of Blood was reason enough to pick one up back in the 90's

That's pretty awesome to see game created out of the homebrew community. Let us know how it is please.

I hate you then. Its going to cost around $600 for a complete boxed console from the looks of it. I've never had a Turbo Grafx or Duo, so at least I'll get to feel like a kid on Christmas when I open it for the first time :awe:

Looks like a clean RGB mod too, just 3 wires and changing a DIN5 to a DIN8 for a clean hack free reversible OEM finish with no cutting or hacking.
