I am reinstalling wow. I have been clean for nearly a year and a half. I was doing so well. But now I hankering for some of the juice.

I played for about a year and a half starting with open beta. I was one of the first rogues on my server. Was in a Hardcore Raiding guild. Wasted so much of my life.

My friends who still play swear that you can play more causually while still getting pretty decent rewards. I just hope I can keep it under control.

Ohh noes... I need to put disc four in my drive!!!!11!!

Edit:

Well... I might have been able to keep myself off the juice. My internet was down for a few hours yesterday and I started playing Baldur's gate (the original on the second one's engine). I think I might be able to curve my need at least until The Witcher Patch returns.

And man it is weird playing with D&D 2.0 rules again. Clerics can only use blunt objects! Thac0's! ... Man this brings me back.

I have a 60 hunter horde...

My Roguey and Priest were alliance. So don't know if I can help you out...

My Roguey was full T1 (MC) as awesome as that sounds. I was the first rogue on the server to have the 3 piece set bonus. That is how epic I was. Third guild to kill Rag worldwide and the second on the serv wit perdition's

You're weak, very very weak. Everybody you know will hate you, you have no friends. You'll have to climb the social ladder all over again. Why bother.

Your problem is that you think you were epic for playing a game that requires little to no skill, just your time. Therefore the bigger loser you are in real life the cooler you are in the game, is that really how you want to live your life?

But I need my fix... And they keep delaying the Witcher Patch.... Dota doesn't allow you to trade weapons in DM anymore and I just can't stay clean... I think have a problem.

WoW is basically dead, in my opinion. And I'm a MT for a guild in the top 10 worldwide.

Game has been steadily regressing more and more, and now that it's uncool to be a PvE player, especially given thats the original point of the goddamn game, I've begun to look forward to my replacement.

I didn't sign up for Blizzard to turn the game into a PvP e-sport, so now that they are doing that, I'm out.

Hmm, let me do my best to try to dissuade you.

You're paying good money every month to not go outside and hang out with real people. Instead, you're in a dark room on your own, slowly devolving into being completely out of shape, as you click your mouse a couple thousand times to kill imaginary enemies so you can scrounge together better imaginary equipment for your imaginary character. When you're done doing that, you'll reset your character and do it all again. This is fun?

I played the text-only equivalent (MUDs) in an addictive fashion for years, so now I stay clear of WoW - but I know the camaraderie, challenge and exploration can be great fun. I just know what it'll do to me. :p

I tried wow, and never really liked it. I got up to 50, before the expansion that took max level to 70.
I went back to the mmo that I never could get away from, asheron's call. I sill run two accounts to this day... all the way back since 1999.

Thats cause everyone knows a fat loser that lives with his mom and plays wow all day and only talks about how awesome his character is and how cool his clan is even though no one cares.

Haha, excellent. The last two formats I haven't even installed that program.

The only thing that'd drag me into a MMORPG now would be X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter with a 64-player mode, complete with capital ships and all.

Sadly, I have had dreams of playing during my MMORPG addiction period.

To OP: I recommend picking a tank or a priest if you want to play casually. You can log on, get 900 party invites to XYZ raid or dungeon, finish that event in one hour, and log off.

I don't get it either. Everyone who I have met that I feel is a loser and is obsessed with WoW was a loser before they started playing too. They are usually the type of people who have no sense of responsibility, moderation, or good priorities. Those who do have those things usually retain them even when WoW becomes one of their hobbies.

OK, so we're talking about WoW? Sorry, I don't play or care about videogames (ironically I'm a software engineer..)

Anyway, most people I know who are into WoW are pretty weird. And obsessed with the game (I've asked if there was a story, apparently there isn't? You just fight?) Weird.

The lore is actually very extensive and well developed.

The lore is actually very extensive and well developed.

But the average player has no clue about the lore at all. No one ever reads the quests, they just ninja-click through them to get back out and click on things to kill them. So they can go back and ninja-click to the next one.

Who cares that much time was spent to come up with a storyline as to why you are killing everything that so much as twitches as you wander across the landscape.
