I'm back to green with my eVGA 8800 GTS on the way. Although I hope the 8800 GTS fares better than my wife's cousins eVGA 8800 GTX ACS, the thing would lock up at factory OC speeds and wouldn't work unless it was underclocked. So now I have no more ATi cards, everything is nVidia from my motherboard to laptop and desktop GPUs. Hmm I wonder if GStanfor will still call me a fanATic?

Its not ownership of a particular card that determines if someone is a fanatic or not it is their overall attitude toward ATi/AMD and nvidia as displayed in forums/etc.

I feel quite sorry for the ATi supporters actually. I know they would rather own an ATi card, and I would certainly rather they *didn't * own a nvidia card.

Not really, I just sold both of my GTS cards and I am pretty happy I did.

Is it me or is this like the longest time ever between video card announcements?

Hope you enjoy the GTS, myself I opted for a 7950GT, because I like the 1 slot. Until a DX10 1 slot of similar caliber comes along, I won't be upgrading.

I got the GTS specifically for Stalker after seeing how awesome it ran on my wife's cousins underclocked 8800 GTX. The image quality was also quite impressive. The 7950 is also a pretty kick ass card.

instead of underclocking the card your wife's cousins GTX should be RMA'd or returned to the place of purchase for exchange as it is clearly faulty.

And I'm sure the R600 will rock when it comes out, I was just complaining about the depressing lack of tech news lately. The biggest GPU release since last November was a GTS with less memory......sad. Where's the R600? Where's the 8900ultra? Where's the Octa-core Opteron?

How is STALKER BTW?

Congrats on the down grade.
