For mothers day, I bought my mom a George Foreman grill. She loves it. She cooks everything on this thing. The bad thing is, the food tastes horrible!

Dinner time is no longer fun, because everything basically tastes like crap on this thing. She loves the quick cook and easy cleanup. I don't think she'll ever use another grill or frying pan again. :(

Now I have to cook dinner myself and I'm a horrible cook.

What have I done....

Yeah. Your mom must be doing something wrong if everything tastes like crap. I cook stuff on mine all the time and it tastes great (chicken, hamburgers, etc.) Tonight's dinner was cooked on said grill, as a matter of fact....

I love that infomercial. We always watch that for a laugh. I love it when he shows the difference between his rotisserie and a traditional one, showing the way the juices drip off the food in traditional rotisserie, but remain on the food in his. Yeah, the Ronco defies gravity!

He just endorses it. Come on did you really think after that many headshots he could develop anything except brain dammage.

The problem with the Forman grill is the very thing they use to sell it, it drains all the fat from the meat leaving it dry and bland, no flavor at all.

If you cook it too long or if you get something with low fat to begin with (e.g. turkey burgers), yeah it can cook the fat and flavor out. I've had good luck with beef patties, chicken, hot dogs, and carne asada/pollo asada, personally.

Probably, it's just a tilted grill with a plastic thing to catch the grease. Don't need a big brain to make something like that.

I think burgers on there taste pretty good.

Maybe its cause your mom is a bad cook.

You don't need to be a good cook to use a Foreman grill.

Exactly, obviously you don't need to be a good cook to use a foreman grill.

which means it will break sooner now, cheap digital stuff is worse than analog.

I dunno what you're talking about. I use that grill all the time and food tastes great. I am sorry to say that, but maybe your mother is a lousy cook?
