I whole-heartedly agree. Sequels very rarely stand up to the greatness of the original if the original kicked serious ass. Here's a list of sequels that sucked and ruined the original:

Klipsch 5.1 Ultra ProMedia (based on price)
Hoover Windtunnel
Nintendo vs Super Nintendo (probably going to only get agreement from hardcore game fanatics)

VHF (I'm fairly certain the Beta came out after VHF, but I could be wrong)
Macintosh P)
Metallica
FuseTalk
Miracle Blade (based on cost of original product debut under the company's previous name of Ginsu)
Pepsi One (versus regular Pepsi or Diet Pepsi)
Jackie Chan (versus Bruce Lee)

Yes, sometimes the sequel to an original something actually IS an improvement. Most of the time, it's not.

It's implicitly implied by the whole H2 name. There was the hummer before, H1, which makes the H2 the sequel to the H1. Dictionary.com defines sequel as a continuation. A continuation would therefore possess the same inherent traits as the original, and would likely improve upon them.

Or maybe it's just a model number.

Wait, who said the H2 was ever billed as equal to or a replacement for the H1? Seems pretty obvious to me they were built for entirely different purposes and should not be viewed in the manner you are describing.

That kinda puts it in perspective, doesn't it? The H2 was never ever supposed to come close to the H1 and everyone but stupid soccer-moms and elitist bastards who don't do their homework know it.

The H2 is the commercial name of the product. Just like (I believe) the Western Digital Caviar drives, their model number is WD1200JB, but their model name is the WD Caviar.

At least GM has gotten away from showing the H2 in more rugged situations and have stooped down to the level that they are really on :laugh:

They are simply acknowledging the true capabilities of the H2. It's a grocery gettin' mommy wagon just like its closely related kin the Chevy Tahoe.
