What hardware have you killed in your computer?

So far:

1 - epox 8rda+
1 - bba 9800 np
1 - bba 9800 pro
1 - bba 9700 pro
2 - abit ic7
1 - abit nf7-s

yeah... 5 of 7 were user error... the other two were just mysterious deaths...

When my Antec power supply blew, it took 5 hard drives, a CD-ROM drive, and the motherboard with it. Antec paid for the replacement though.

2 sticks of ram, 1 hard drive, 2 video cards, 1 PSU. And a mobo or a PSU, depending on what is currently fvcking up my desktop.

I've killed a couple power supplies. One was a severely overloaded 250W that just died while playing UT. The other was a cheap PSU in my server who's fan died and I didn't realize it. It overheated and the computer turned off. I tried to power it on again and got a little fireworks show out the back.

What is wrong with you. 🙁🙁🙁🙁:brokenheart:

seriously right?

that's like... $250 + $200 + $180 = $630 worth in video cards...

the NP lived for... 3 months... the 9800 pro lived for 1 day... the 9700... 3 months...

hehehe...

Nothing in this system.

*knocks on wood*

I did fry an Asus CUSL2-C once. For some reason the ps2 ports died and my keyboard & mouse stopped responding. The computer booted properly, but I couldn't get past the "keyboard error" message. I fought it for a couple days and then RMA'd the sucker.

let's see...

1.pc-chip socket 7 mobo: i was trying to take freaking heatsink&fan off...with screw driver, i scrapped some lines on mobo, and it stopped working :Q

2.hard drive #1: dead for no reason...i think i dropped it too many times

3.hard drive #2: i pulled molex connector too hard and one of pin snapped 🙁

4.back in late 90's, i left my computer open to cool it, and one day i dropped screw drive inside of computer...blue spark and i had to get some new parts 😱

there are more, but i swear it's not my fault! 😛

way to much to count, nothing in my current computer, but i used to have lots of donated stuff, used stuff, etc, plug it into see if it workds, interchange, i didn't care, and some worked some did for a bit and then died

1 815e Motherboard
1 128MB stick of RAM
2 Geforce2s
2 Deathstars

let me think...Dell, Dell, Dell, yup, all Dell hardware. There's more but I can't think of it off the top of my head.

I recently had a monitor die on me, but before that.. years ago (like, in the '90s) a TNT2 Ultra went kaput, and the fan in an old power supply (a contemporary of the TNT2) died.

nothing that I am aware of

the odd part has died before, but i haven't really ever blown anything up

well i blew up a power supply, but it was a matter of a defective plug, the 2 leads were touching somehow inside the connector and it fried the PSU.
the rest of the system was fine.

I toasted a P3B once by being in a hurry and forgetting that ATX boards have power applied to them at all times unless the power supply switch is off or the system unplugged. I have not forgotten it since that lesson.😀
