What happens when your memory is unstable (overclocked too high)?

Does Windows and the BIOS lock up, or just Windows? How do you make the HTT slower if you go too far (regularly?).
 
all kind of issues..often you will not boot into windows or get BSOD

Also data will be corrupted, programs crash.....etc

you can adjust memory speed via memory divider on your mobo from the bios where you oced your opty

 
Should just get BSOD with stop error & reboot to BIOS & revert setting. Not sure if it would corrupt BIOS but I guess a really wild attempt could, I don't recall reading of that.
