I'm trying to overclock my tbird 800, and when i tried 9x105 at default voltage, the power lights came on, but not the monitor and there was no post sound. Is this what's supposed to happen? The only way i could get it going again was by resetting the cmos? is this right? thanx

Seems like your CPU can't handle the speed your were trying to overclock it to. That's fairly common. Just back off the speed a little and your should be fine.

Update:
After being very stable at 9x100 and default voltage, I tried to up the fsb speed, but obviously went to far(at current voltage) as mentioned in the first message. The problem now is I can't even post at 9x100 again...Only using 8x multiplier...any explinations?? btw...i have an abit kt7 if that helps
