The notion that killing yourself is unforgiveable and you automatically go to Hell is a frabrication of some churches, it's not in the Bible. In fact, even though it is mentioned several times, the Bible doesn't really take a moral stance on suicide at all. The only thing that is considered to apply to it is the 'thou shalt not kill' commandment, but 'kill' is really too broad a term to use in the translation to English, 'murder' is much closer to the original Hebrew word (this is also why a lot of die hard Christians don't have a religious problem with capitol punishment).

This is from a PM where I was talking with some one about a similar topic.

If you want to know what I think happens when you die, I'll be happy to tell you!

The human brain works on energy (chemically produced electricity) Energy (according to Einstein) be changed but not destroyed.

I think "Heaven" is the mass collection of all the energy that went before us and all that will come.
Does this energy retain some form of consciousness? I would like to think so. Is Jesus there? No doubt!

I also thing that GOD is the SAME as "Heaven" the collected consciousness of all the beings that ever lived. I think Hell is the frame of mind you carry with you after death. As is heaven. If you die in the right state of mind, you spend eternity in heaven, if not hell.

On a sort of related topic. If you ever get the chance, read "the Tibetan Book of the Dead".

Another good set of books are "life after life" and "reflections on life after life" By Dr. Moody.
These books were written after Dr. Moody talked with people who had had near death experiences. It's interesting that all people had VERY similar experiences regardless of their religious beliefs.
And for all, it was a pleasant experience except for those who had tried to talk their own lives. For them it was BAD. They said all the problems they had tried to escape by killing themselves where still there!
(Hell)

I would like to see some definition of what a soul is, when it was first discovered and how its existance can be shown.

There is not a single reason to believe that there is a 'soul'. That's the whole point.

I say that gods are inferior to Humans. I now challenge you to refute that statement using objective observations and facts and thus no metaphysical 'stuff'.
I say that souls do not exist, that they are but a figment of the imagination. Again, try to refute this statement without using metaphysical stuff.

Problem with religion and related topics is that it's almost solely based on superstition. Only some irrelevant details can indeed be proven, but largely it's a mere fantasy.

So what if say yes when your wife/gf asks you "do I look fat in this" and then repent the second before she kills you, do you go to heven or hell?
