What happens to tickets if a major event gets rained out?

Lets say you have tix for Quarterfinals at Wimbledon which is on Fri, and it gets rained out.

The semi's and the finals are all sold out.

1) are tickets for the event (ie: quarters, semi, final)?

So does that mean everything is moved back a day? quarters = sat, semi = sun, final = mon

if so, thats going to suck for people w/semifinals tix that show up on sat. heck, think of the chaos w/double the # of people (quarter + semi tix holders) all show up on same day.


2) or are tickets for the day? (ie: fri, sat, sun)

so those w/sat tix expecting semi's are now going to watch the quarters, and those expecting the finals are going to watch the semi's.

and those rained out will be reissued tix for mon (finals)?

It may be case by case, but USUALLY everything gets moved back a day. The tickets that were for say, the Monday quarterfinals will now be used on Tuesday, for the same quarterfinals.
