What happens to the money?

What happens to the unspent campaign contributions (money) when a candidate drops out of the presidential race?

They can't keep it and they can't give it back, where does it go?

Can someone tell me where I can find the answer?

or stockpiled for the next election.

If there are any extra funds, they are the responsibilty of the candidate who is usually in debt and loaned money to his campaign to get it going.
