What happens to people wrongly accused but already served a sentence?

Seen some cases on the news but they never mentioned if there was any compensation. I mean if I was wrongly sent to prison for 20 years, I'd be pissed as hell and would demand HEAVY compensation for 20 years down the drain.

I'm pretty sure the state or the feds make some kind of monetary compensation---they probably just try to do it quietly

ya but when you think about it, no amount of money can make up for the years you lost as well as the humiliation, and hardship in prison. i guess you are just a$$ed out cuz there's not much you CAN do. gotta love the govt.

Actually if the conviction of someone was not due to mistakes of the state or federal government(meaning they were convicted by due process of law). I think basically they get released and apologized to. But no compensation.

I kind of remember a case or two being in the news saying that there was no compensation because the persons had a fair trial and they were convicted by a jury.

I believe that if it's an error in procedure by the Judge or Lawyers there is some kind of compensation.

If the trial is conducted properly and fairly and the Jury sends you to prison, then you get nothing.
