Was watching Dateline tonight and there was a story about a high school kid in a coma and his life support was removed.
What happens to the body while one is in a coma on full life support? Does their immune system still work?
And is there different "levels" of being in a coma? If a person's in a coma, his/her eyes are usually closed and they are pretty much a statue... but what about in the case of Terri Schaivo (sp?) ? She is obviously "awake" and looking around the room.
