what happens if you replace the mobo on a pc with partition backup?

Can you just reinstall windows from the partition and have everything be ok?

1) Wrong forum
2) If you swap the motherboard you will most likely need to install windows fresh from a cd.
 
Is the replacement mobo the exact same one? If so you shouldn't have driver issues, if not then prepare to reinstall (unless you want to jump through all sorts of hoops to get Windows running properly again.)
