What Happens If You Miss Your Package Delivery 3 times by UPS?

I've been expecting a package for the last few days but everytime the UPS guy stops by I'm not here and theres nobody else here to sign for it. I've missed him 2 days in a row and this is the final attempt to deliever the package. What do they do if you miss it the 3rd time? Do you have to go down to the UPS station and pick up the package or do they send it back to the company that shipped it?

you go to the ups station within a week to pick it up... if you don't, or call them to ask them to try to re-send it, they send it back to the original shipper

In my experience, unless you contact them before the 3rd delivery attempt & arrange a deliver date or pick-up from the local UPS station, the UPS package goes back to the sender.

If the package is not COD, UPS holds it for 5 business days after the 3rd attempt then it goes back.

Just take that damn sticky note they leave on your door, check the box to leave it on the porch and sign the back of it. You will have that thing on your porch whether you are there or not.

If ya don't give em a call and ask them to hold it or give an alt.address they return to shipper....I hate that.

you must live in apartment, they will not leave package under any circumstances. you have to be there or pick it up. Even Fedex will not leave packages either, because they don't feel safe enough to do so.

After three attempts it becomes the property of the driver. He can do whatever he wants with it.

Yep, that can happen. Also their policies can vary by REGION due to space and storage constraints. Some will return it to the sender after the third attempt without holding it, some will hold it for one week before returning it. Call UPS NOW and arrange pick-up.

They open it up and divide it among the top 10 drivers for that week in the area of getting people to miss 3 deliveries.
