What happens if you accidentaly ate mold/fungus on bread

so yea.. I went to a Quizno's a bit out of town that I've never been to before. Anyway.. I got one of their breadbowls filled with soup. Well I ate a little more than half of it before I picked it up and realized that the entire bottom of the bread bowl was covered in green mold/fungus whatever you want to call it.

they did give me a refund, but I'm just wondering if I'm gonna get sick from it. Its only been about 20 minutes.

Anyone ever eat a bunch of mold before?

Its possible you might die, get really sick, vomit etc.

But it also might not do anything at all.

Just get the doctor on speed dial.

I don't like mold, but I was under the impression it's not all that dangerous. People have said they just wipe it off and keep on eating, but I dunno, pretty gross if you ask me. Write to corporate they'll make sure everything's right. (Although I'm not sure you'd want to eat there again)

Well i know one thing...if i ever happen to get a breadbowl from Quiznos (unlikely) i'm going to look at the bottom of it before i start eating.

Gross, but highly unlikely to be harmful in small levels. Remember, you probably eat smaller amounts of mold frequently (at levels that aren't easily visible yet), so an unfortunate rare time when you consume a larger amount probably won't hurt 1 bit.

i would have posted pics via phone asap and made it pretty public and then bitched tremendously at the store.

not sure if it can really do any lethal harm...but its still gross. I know ive woken up in the wee hours of the morning, went to grab some cream cheese for a bagel to realize it had some fuzzy friends inside...

the rule is, if you get sick, thats horrible, see a doc
if nothing happens, you're good!

Shouldn't be a problem unless your immune system is weakened. Sometimes the mold get into the respiratory tract and into the lungs, which is a serious problem.

Oh, and you might get sick, food poisoning? Might get lucky and just have to sit on the bowl all day.

I would have thought Quizno's bread was fresh everyday. I know they don't bake it themselves, but I would have thought it was brought in daily.
