Somehow someone managed to get my CC info and made a fraudulent charge on it. I really don't know how this happened, but I have changed all my banking passwords and also my local network passwords just in case, and I'll have to investigate further. Long story short, I cancelled that card now and I have a new one on the way.

Problem is, it just so happens I had a RMA refund pending at NCIX. Now that number is not valid. Do I lose out on the refund? Is it going to basically go nowhere? How does this work?

Their support page is broken, the submit button on the form is grayed out. They don't respond to emails. So I can't contact them about it.

If the account itself is still open, the refund will still happen. The card number doesn't matter for the refund, it's the particular transaction that's getting refunded.

So you didn't bother calling the CC company? It's scary to talk to people huh?

I've dealt with this very issue before, it doesn't matter what your CC number has been changed to as long as they're refunding a transaction it will still post to your account. Nothing to worry about.

Half correct. They refund the card. However, credits don't need authorization so they can refund to closed cards. The bank knows it's your card #so they just post it to the new card instead.

I called the CC company already, that's how I canceled the account.

Tried calling NCIX but it just kept ringing (not on hold, but actual ringing). That's how I originally tried to contact them.

So since it's a reversal of transaction I should be ok then? That's good to know. i see the old card is canceled already and the new one is opened and the balance was transfered over, so I'll keep an eye open for the refund to appear.

Interestingly, this is a card I wanted to cancel anyway lol. Just waiting for my credit union one to come in. I have it, but I made a plan change and they said a new one had to be sent. Though I'm wondering if the were mistaken as it's been almost a month. I'll have to call them. I want to start using the new card. I have to update my dedicated server now that I think about it... would suck to get it terminated lol.

Ok, but did you ask them about it? It doesn't sound like you did b/c they would have given you an answer.

And if you didn't, why didn't you call again? It's not like you are only allowed to call once.

They will transfer it over... no worries, but may take up to 30 days for them to investigate it.
