What happens if Low Latency Ram SPD settings won't let you boot?

Hot Deals forum has some Mushkin Cas2 listed and some people report the SPD settings are too tight and won't boot. They mentioned putting in some other memory in order to set the timing manually.

If the system won't boot with the original SPD setting, you can't get into bios to set them manually while leaving that memory installed? If that's the case I guess I can mark that off my shopping list for my new system.

Clear the CMOS that often sets the memory to consertative settings. The mobo manual should tell you how. Yes it's a good idea to stay away from memory like that.
