What happens if I use dual Channel RAM

Dual channel is a function of the motherboard, not the RAM itself. All that "Dual channel RAM" means is that the two modules are from the same batch run / bin / factory / other random factor used by the manufacturer to dupe people into paying more money for it.

bottom line is that you shouldn't experience any problems. as was pointed out, dual channel refers to capability on the motherboard, that will enhance ram performance. As for memory being sold as "dual channel compatible", the more reliable dealiers will try and match up ram sticks that are very very similiar in performance, but that's about as far as it goes, for "dual channel" ram.
