What happens if a high school student gets suspended, but comes to school anyway?

I don't imagine most high school administrators discuss suspensions with all of the student's teachers. Most liekly if you got suspended, you teachers wouldn't even know.

So what happens if you get suspended but show up at school anyway?

you get extra credit? you get to eat lunch last? who knows. why don't you try?

in most cases kids would be happy to be suspended and staying at home anyway.

the hs i went to used to give the teacher attendance sheets every morning and they listed who was suspended that day. Plus the student had to go around and get the days assignments on a special form from the teachers and hand in a copy to the main office.

atleast at my highschool there was a morning homeroom for like 10 min, and they took attendence, turned it in what not, then the list was distributed about 2 hours into school, it had absents, and the suspended students listed on it.

The attendace system in the computers list a student as suspended for that day.

When I was in high school they took attendance by checking off your name on a list.

We had police at our school.

Did they search classrooms every day looking for suspended students?

Well no, but the school was small enough I think that the teachers knew all the kids in their classes.

One time I was suspended for two weeks for cutting school one day. I never understood the logic behind this particular punishment. I didn't want to be in school so they gave me a two week vacation to do as I pleased.

Yikes, that's harsh. I would skip HS classes all the time but never got caught. I guess back in the early 90's it wasn't as bad as it is now with security and keeping a closer eye on students.

seriously...they should make it so that you HAVE TO go to school or else they kick you out.

i skipped classes all the time. my teachers would know and they wouldnt do anything about it. I even got coffee/donuts/muffins for some teachers and they appreciated it 😀

well they were like they probably cause we were the "honors" students.

We had a computer system that teachers used to do attendence every class period. It listed who was absent, who was suspended, who was on field trips, etc. If you were suspended and showed up the police would escort you out.

interesting thread 😛
In our school, the names go out on the absent students list that is sent out to all teachers every day. Then I guess the teachers either turn you in or you show up as present but not supposted to be on the attendance.

Yep, in my HS the teachers have to do the attendence for every period on the computer. It would show if a student is suspended. When a student misses a class the school calls with an automated message sometime that afternoon saying they skipped a block. The teachers also have the ability to look up any day and see if that student missed any classes.
