I just bought the Klipsch 5.1 ultra speakers and got finished hooking them up. After hooking them up though i slightly bumped my cpu and the screen artifacted on me (got all messed up and froze). I restarted and got some sort of power surge so i disconnected the speakers which i figure were pulling to much power to be plugged into the power surge box that I have and plugged them right into the wall. After restarting i went into far cry and the textures were all messed up. I restarted the comp again and everything seems to be running normal again. Far Cry is back to normal. I think I had too much powe being pulled from the box and my comp was underpowered which caused it to lock up... but why would Far Cry still be messed up after that first restart? I hope I didnt damage any parts of my computer... do you guys think my stuff is alright and it was just a power problem? Can that stuff damage computer parts? It seems to be working fine.. any opions would be appreciated.

Slightly bumped my CPU. Do you mean O'clocking it? or physically bumped into it? If it's the latter you might want to check the inside of the system for tightness of all connections and also the add in cards. Make sure they are still well inserted.

He means he bumped the case, I guess. Check for loose wiring/connectors inside the case. Check for loose cards, too. Make sure the processor is solidly locked in it's socket.

You can also take the cover off of the case and thump the power supply to see if you can duplicate the problem. I had a PS with a bad solder joint inside of it and it would reset if I bumped it just right.

Since you mentioned that Far Cry was all messed up, im guessing windows looked ok. I would re-insert your graphics card and make sure its tightly down in the slot.
