I have a 1900+ AGOGA with and MSI K7 Master motherboard. I changed the multiplier from 12 to 13. Thinking it would show xp2100+ at boot up. It showed 1900+. in System Tools "system information" it says 1600, which, seems to indicate that the motherboard changed the multiplier back to 12. Does anyone know what happened? Thanks.

What mobo??? I believe many of the XP chips multipliers could only be unlocked by the mobo, barring the closing the bridges mod....So list the mobo and someone can tell you if that mobo did it.

I believe it has to be a newer baord like the nforce2 or otherwise you have to do the old method of filling in the bridges with liike super glue then reconnect the L1 bridges with a defogger kit. More tedious but the only way it apperas you will be able to unlock the multiplier.....

K7 Master will not do it. I tried on mine :).
It should reset the CPU settings (multiplier, FSB, voltage).

what do you mean by "reset"? do you mean it won't let you change them. I tried changing FSB and it worked.

As in, when you go back, it should be at 100MHz FSB, default voltage, and default multiplier, after failing to start with a multiplier that didn't work.

I have the ver 1.1 motherboard, so it goes to 133 FSB. I raised the FSB one notch, and it showed XP2000+ on bootup.
Right now I'm worried about the temp. I'm idling at 52c. I got a new Antec 400w PS and the fan at the bottom seems to be blowing instead of sucking (no double meaning intended) and I have the CPU fan sucking, so I have heat buildup in the case.
Seems like they should have the fans in the PS sucking air out of the case.
