Has anyone heard anything about this movie? I was out of town a few weeks ago and went to a theater and saw a teaser poster for it, and it said it was being released on 11/1/2002. I was just checking listings and didn't see it anywhere, so I looked it up on Yahoo and now I see it's going to be released 3/7/2003. It looks like it could be pretty cool, basically the earth's core stops rotating and the magnetic field starts to deteriorate, so they have to drill into the core to get it spinning again. Kind of a "Journey to the Center of the Earth" meets "Armaggedon". Anyway, I was just curious why it got pushed back by 4 months.

The Nov issue of wired says there are 3 movied coming out with this premise and the the first one "The Core" from Paramount is out Nov 1.

Friday 4th October 2002: The Core Update:
The release date of the upcoming Hilary Swank movie The Core has been put back to early next year. The reason for the delay, as the movie was planned for this November, was given so as to allow the FX people time to complete correctly the FX. The chairman of Paramount had this to say about the change "'The Core' is a huge film with exciting innovative effects and we always knew we were on a tight post production schedule. In order not to compromise the quality of the effects, we have decided to give the filmmakers more time to perfect them. It's important to us to make the best film possible, not a release date"
