What happened to WinAMP 3?

This thing went into beta like 2 years ago, didn't it? I think AOL bought it, and killed it just like they killed Netscape. Another vaporware product

nah im using Winamp 3 Beta 3 but 2.x was better. 3 Randomly just crashes/lags my system to a complete stop.

I install the Lite version and say I have no internet connection and it never asks me to update it. I like it

Ver. 2.xx was a lot more stable and mature then ver. 3 (obviously). 3.xx takes too long to load and not as clean as 2.xx. They should fix this in time.

I concur, WA3 was junk... Hopefully it never comes out - all it'll do is sap resources with useless junk.... Hmm, now that I think about it, that sounds an awful lot like Windows XP!
